Robert was born in California and studied English Literature, earning a bachelors degree in English from UCLA. He set out to New York after college to pursue a teaching and writing career. He ended up falling headlong into the restaurant industry and decided to chase the dream of acting instead. His first novel, "Trashed", recounts his experiences as a young waiter struggling to break out in New York City.
